You are entering a completely new environment, a bit unfamiliar but ready for months of training that will begin in the next few days.
Over the past three days, an excited and vibrant atmosphere has taken place at military enlistment ceremonies in 63 provinces and cities across the country.
It can be seen that a fairly high percentage of new recruits this year have university, college, and vocational high school degrees. A look at some major cities will make it clearer when this rate in Hanoi reaches more than 65%, Ho Chi Minh City is nearly 50%, and Can Tho is also approximately 40%.
Many people have stable jobs and a decent income but still put everything aside to join the army.
There are quite a few pairs of twins in many localities who have passed the exam and are going to perform military service this year. In Da Nang, there are even three brothers who have joined the army this time.
Many women are not inferior to men when they become new soldiers. Some were once in the top 15 of a beauty pageant, have graduated from university and are working but still volunteer to join the army.
What do these statistics tell us? That the good news worth noting is none other than the spirit of attack, the dedication and the attitude of readiness to respond to the sacred call of the Fatherland.
In each locality, there are quite a number of young people who volunteer to join the army, many of whom wish to serve long-term in the army. Some localities have received thousands of applications to volunteer to join the army in peacetime.
The beautiful and vibrant picture of today’s youth has been and is being portrayed like that. Besides the outstanding achievements in different fields, not only domestically but also famous in the regional and international arena.
Those things will surely give us faith in the young generation, in a social context where there is concern that today's young people only like to enjoy life and care little about current events.
That modern youth favor virtual values and have many misconceptions about fame in an online world full of unreal values!
Performing military service is a responsibility but also a source of pride for many young people and many families. Because contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland should be considered an urgent mission in the heart of every citizen of a country.
Coincidentally, this year's military recruitment season coincides with the start of the Youth Month of "volunteering for the community" by Vietnamese youth.
So the way hundreds of thousands of young people enter the army this year can also be seen as a volunteer effort of young hearts choosing to live for the community.
Then the young men and women in their twenties who today set out to fulfill their mission at the call of the Fatherland will mature and become more experienced in the military training and discipline environment. And they - the young men and women in their twenties are showing their responsibility, starting to shoulder their Fatherland in such a way!
