On the morning of March 6, the Military Region 7 Command held a meeting with the Propaganda Department, Department of Information and Communications of provinces and cities; news agencies and newspapers in the military region at the beginning of the spring of Giap Thin year 2024.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Political Commissar of Military Region 7, highly appreciated the contributions that the Propaganda sector and press agencies achieved in 2023.
Thereby, contributing to building people's trust in the Party, government, armed forces, well implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and well performing the duty of building and defending the Fatherland.
Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung also shared the highlights of the past year of the armed forces of Military Region 7. Specifically, the Military Region closely coordinated with forces to effectively handle situations according to the motto "not to let them fester, not to connect, not to be passively surprised, not to spread, prolong, become complicated, and not to let the Military Region's area become unstable".

Another highlight is that the Military Region focuses on improving its potential, forces and defense posture, especially its political, spiritual, economic, military potential and increasingly solid people's hearts and minds.
Mr. Trung said that 63/65 permanent militia posts have been built and solidified. The border protection force has been increased. At the same time, propaganda, mobilization and implementation of the task of protecting border markers, resolving national security and defense issues, and social evils are increasingly effective.
Building residential clusters and people's borders
Regarding the highlights in 2023, the Political Commissar of Military Region 7 emphasized the construction of Residential Areas adjacent to border militia posts, Stations, Border Guard posts with 58 points and 521 houses.
According to Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, this is a very successful policy thanks to the determination, perseverance, daring to think and act of the Military Region and localities. Through this, a series of difficult problems have been solved such as building houses; granting land; worrying about electricity, clean water; worrying about jobs; healthcare; schools;...
"In the future, these residential areas will develop into hamlets, residential clusters, and our people's borders will become increasingly solid," said the Political Commissar of Military Region 7.
In addition, another highlight mentioned is focusing on building a clean and strong Military Region that is "exemplary and typical". In training, always ensure "3 essences": teaching, learning, testing, evaluating results and eliminating the disease of achievement. In combat readiness, well implement "4 on-site" and "3 ready" (people, weapons, equipment, means, plans, and situations to respond successfully)...
At the meeting, the Political Commissar of Military Region 7 suggested that in 2024, the Central Propaganda Department should pay attention to leading and directing local agencies, units, and press to continue to coordinate more closely with Military Region 7 in information.
The leaders of Military Region 7 also hope that news agencies and newspapers will maintain, expand and improve the quality of special pages, columns, news and articles reflecting on military activities, national defense and foreign defense. At the same time, step up propaganda so that the system of strategies on national defense and security continues to be effectively implemented; promptly reflect the daily life of soldiers on duty at the border, islands, remote areas; new models, creative ways of doing things and advanced examples... Timely fight against false information, refute distorted information, and sabotage the Party and State.
Create positive information flow on the propaganda information system
Attending and speaking, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy highly appreciated the Party Committee and the Military Region 7 Command for organizing the annual meeting to evaluate, reward, and coordinate the implementation of annual work for the leaders of the Propaganda Department; Departments of Information and Communications of provinces and cities; news agencies and newspapers in the Military Region.
The Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department also shared that the world situation is forecast to remain complicated and difficult in 2024 and the following years. Therefore, he requested the Military Region 7 Command to determine the unit's position in the new situation.
Through this, he also noted that the Military Region's Political Department must summarize and review the work in the information coordination program every year, promote the good aspects and improve the bad aspects.
Mr. Thuy suggested that agencies and units of Military Region 7 need to coordinate more innovatively in accessing information, directing and orienting media information for press agencies, for better implementation; creating positive information trends on the information and propaganda system.
At the same time, with press agencies and news agencies, Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy suggested that in the coming time, they need to focus on improving the coordination program with Military Region 7.
"Coordinate closely in handling sensitive information such as defense and security. Along with that, deploy propaganda to harmonize socio-economic development with defense and security" - Mr. Thuy emphasized.
