The Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue has just sent a telegram to departments, branches, units and People's Committees of affiliated localities regarding the implementation of plans and measures to focus on responding to storm No. 6 (Tra Mi).

At the same time, units and localities need to closely monitor all developments of storm No. 6 and call on boats to leave dangerous areas for safe shelters; maintain information and communication with captains, owners of fishing boats, cargo ships, means of transport at sea and coastal residents, especially offshore fishing boats until the boats are safely anchored; count and grasp the number and location of boats and crew on each boat; provide guidance on proper anchoring techniques and regulations; strengthen patrols and strictly control boats operating along the coast, river mouths, departure points, and boat anchorage areas in each commune and town.
