Speaking to Dan Tri reporters at noon on February 22, the leader of Metro Line 1 Operation Company (HURC1) said that he had just had the honor of welcoming General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of the Lao Prime Minister and Ho Chi Minh City leaders this morning at Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien.
"These are special guests, not announced in advance, which surprised and delighted us, but the reception was still solemn and thoughtful," said the leader of HURC1.

According to the HURC1 representative, during the reception of the Lao General Secretary and Prime Minister's delegation, Metro Line 1 still welcomed passengers as usual. People still traveled on the same train as the leaders.
"Here, General Secretary To Lam visited and talked with the people. He was very cheerful, caring, and simple," the HURC leader shared.
HURC1 said that from December 22, 2024 to February 19, Metro Line 1 operated 11,776 trains and transported more than 4.4 million passengers, reaching 194% of the transport plan.

Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro is the first metro line built and put into operation in Ho Chi Minh City with a length of 19.7km connecting the center of District 1 with the eastern area such as Binh Thanh and Thu Duc city.
Each train carries a maximum of 930 passengers (including 147 seats and 783 standing seats) with an interval of 8-12 minutes/trip, a total of 200 trips per day. Speed 110km/h (elevated section) and 80km/h (underground section).
On average, Metro Line 1 makes 177 trips per day, carrying 76,142 passengers, equivalent to 431 passengers per train, with an average revenue of more than 1 billion VND/day.
