Nhon Trach Bridge, part of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, is nearing completion with 87% of the work completed. The bridge is expected to be closed on March 9, marking an important step in connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai.

This is the fastest progressing section in the entire Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3.

The closing of the border span is an important item, determining the completion progress of Nhon Trach Bridge. Currently, this progress has exceeded the plan by 4 months and is expected to be completed by April 30 this year, according to the Prime Minister's target.

After closing, Nhon Trach bridge will continue with stages such as tensioning external cables, constructing parapets, paving asphalt concrete and completing traffic safety items to put into operation.

Along with Ring Road 3, the section through Thu Duc City is also expected to be completed to open the entire Nhon Trach bridge axis to Tan Van intersection.

The Nhon Trach Bridge construction package (package CW1) under component project 1A has a contract value of VND 1,618 billion, constructed by Kumho E&C Company (Korea), and is currently at 94% progress.

Nhon Trach Bridge is under construction of the bridge deck.

The construction package for the 5.6km-long approach road at both ends of the bridge (package CW2) worth VND1,071 billion is currently over 75% complete. The approach road at both ends of the bridge is being accelerated to connect synchronously with the river bridge.

On the Dong Nai side, the contractor is implementing the construction of crushed stone roadbed.

When completed, Nhon Trach Bridge will help shorten the journey from Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province, to Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City. The route also connects Ho Chi Minh City with the provinces in the East and Southwest; especially, it will separate traffic from a distance and reduce congestion on inner-city routes.

The underpass project under Nhon Trach bridge is being covered with geotextile before sand is pumped to make the roadbed.

In the planning of the traffic system connecting the two localities of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, there are 4 road bridges. In addition to Nhon Trach bridge, in the coming time, the two localities will deploy 2 road bridges directly connecting Nhon Trach district with Ho Chi Minh City, namely Cat Lai bridge and Phu My 2 bridge.

Beltway 3 is an inter-regional road, the starting point of radial expressways such as Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong, Ben Luc - Long Thanh...

Closing Ring Road 3 contributes to completing the expressway network connecting Ho Chi Minh City with provinces in the Southern key economic region, reducing traffic congestion in the area.

When the route is put into operation, inter-provincial transport vehicles will not need to go through the city center or densely populated areas; saving time and costs, creating an additional connection between Ho Chi Minh City and Long Thanh airport in addition to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway.
