UN Secretary General and leaders of countries congratulate President To Lam

On the occasion of Mr. To Lam being elected President by the 15th National Assembly, leaders of Cuba, Thailand, North Korea, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Nicaragua... and the Secretary General of the United Nations sent congratulatory telegrams, letters and messages.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel congratulated and wished President To Lam success in his new assignment, expressing his wish to continue deepening the excellent relationship between the two countries in all fields.

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin congratulated Mr. To Lam on his election as President, affirming that Vietnam and Thailand are close friends and important partners, and expressed his wish to work with the President to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. Chairman of the State Council of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong-un congratulated and affirmed that Mr. To Lam's assumption of the responsibility of President demonstrates the trust and expectations of the Party and people of Vietnam, and wished President To Lam many achievements in his new position for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warmly congratulated President To Lam and believed that under the leadership of the Party, State and President To Lam, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve more success, especially in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Secretary-General Antonio Guterres affirmed that the United Nations will continue to be a reliable partner accompanying Vietnam in the country's development process, and hopes to meet President To Lam soon to further promote the good cooperative relationship between the United Nations and Vietnam. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres especially appreciated Vietnam's outstanding socio-economic development achievements as well as its positive contributions in recent times to resolving global issues at United Nations forums. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan people, sent warm congratulations to President To Lam, reaffirming the commitment to continue deepening the brotherly relationship between the two countries at the highest level, in all areas of cooperation. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory letter to President To Lam. Emir of the State of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and Deputy Emir of the State of Qatar Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Thani sent congratulatory messages to President To Lam. Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo sent congratulatory messages to President To Lam. On the occasion of Mr. To Lam's election as President and Mr. Tran Thanh Man as President of the National Assembly, Italian President Sergio Mattarella and President of the Italian Senate Ignazio La Russa sent congratulatory letters. In the letter, the Italian leaders affirmed that Vietnam and Italy have been closely linked thanks to their long-standing friendship; expressed their joy at the positive development achievements in bilateral relations and wished to further strengthen the dynamic cooperation between the two countries within the bilateral framework and development cooperation between Italy and ASEAN. On the occasion of Mr. Tran Thanh Man's election as President of the National Assembly, President of the Greek Parliament Konstantinos Tassoulas also sent a congratulatory letter.
