US President Joe Biden and world leaders congratulate Vietnam on National Day

On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), leaders of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, the United States, Japan, and Australia sent congratulatory messages and letters to the leaders of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam.

Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Haji Hassanal Bolkiah affirmed that Brunei Darussalam always treasures the long-standing friendship with Vietnam; wishes that on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership, the two countries will continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, people-to-people exchange and join hands to promote the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, the new Vision 2045, towards the common goals of peace, stability and prosperity in the region. Indonesian President Joko Widodo sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary and President To Lam. President Joko Widodo congratulated Vietnam and expressed his belief that the relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam will be promoted to a new height. Malaysian King Al-Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and the Queen sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary and President To Lam; Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Johari bin Abdul sent a congratulatory letter to Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man. The Malaysian high-ranking leaders expressed their delight at the growing and expanding Vietnam-Malaysia strategic partnership in many fields; this is a testament to the close relationship between the leaders and people of the two countries over the past 50 years; they believe that the cooperation between the two countries will achieve more substantial results, for the people of the two countries and for peace, cooperation and development of the region. Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary and President To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The Philippine President warmly congratulated Vietnam on its great achievements in national construction and development; praised the Vietnamese people's will and steadfast determination on the path to regaining independence and freedom; and believed that the strong development of Vietnam's economy will contribute to peace and stability in the ASEAN region; At the same time, he affirmed his desire to continue to deepen the strategic partnership with Vietnam, for peace, cooperation and development, and for the benefit of the people of the two countries. King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam. The Thai leaders expressed their delight at the comprehensive development in all areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially trade, investment, tourism and infrastructure; affirmed that Thailand always attaches importance to the friendly and close relationship with Vietnam and hopes that the two countries will continue to seize new opportunities to promote cooperation, for the common interests of the two countries, for a prosperous future of the two peoples. President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam. President Yoon Suk Yeol affirmed that after more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have built a close cooperative relationship based on the foundation of friendship and solid trust; wish the two countries to continue to expand and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in all areas in the coming time. US President Joe Biden sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam and the people of Vietnam. President Joe Biden thanked Vietnam for the warm welcome given to the President during his visit in 2023, assessed that Vietnam and the US have made great progress in building a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, thereby contributing to peace, stability and development in the region; reaffirmed the US's support for a strong, independent, prosperous and self-reliant Vietnam, and expressed his desire to further strengthen the relationship between the Governments and peoples of the two countries. Japanese Emperor Naruhito sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam. Australian Governor-General Samantha Mostyn sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam and extended her warmest congratulations to the Government and people of Vietnam; emphasized that the two countries are close friends and expressed confidence that the Australia - Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to develop.
