Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club buys American foreign player with 'huge' height to support Huynh Nhu

Huynh Nhu has another partner on the attack line

To prepare for the match against Abu Dhabi Country in the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup 1, Huynh Nhu's Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club brought in two American foreign players with ideal physiques and rich football experience.

The first foreign player is Aubrey Goodwill, born in 1998, an American citizen. Center back Goodwill grew up in the world- famous American school football scene, playing for Sacramento and California Storm, then moving to Real SC in the Portuguese third division. While playing for Sacramento, Goodwill won many individual awards.

The presence of the 1.77 m tall center back will further strengthen the HCMC Women's Club in high ball defense situations.

Striker Sabrina Cabrera will support Huynh Nhu on the attack line.

After Goodwill, the HCMC women's team has another American foreign player. The chosen one is Sabrina Marie Cabrera, who also played in American school soccer. Cabrera was born in 2001, is 1.75 m tall and plays as a striker. Cabrera has everything the HCMC women's team needs on the offensive front. She is a tall, well-built center forward who plays the role of "decoy" to pave the way for technical attackers like Tran Thi Thuy Trang or Huynh Nhu to show off their abilities.

Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper, Huynh Nhu affirmed that the foreign players of the Ho Chi Minh City women's team all have ideal body shape and physique to compensate for the weaknesses of Vietnamese female players.

In the group stage of the Asian Cup 1, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club registered 3 foreign players including Tatiana Mason, Talani Barnet and Meghan Root. All three players signed short-term contracts, lasting until the end of the group stage, then returned home to play for other clubs.

With foreign players Goodwill and Cabrera, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club also only signed short-term contracts. Depending on the performance of these players as well as the achievements of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club in the Asian Cup 1, the team will calculate whether to continue to extend the contracts with the foreign players or not.

After buying two American foreign players, the Ho Chi Minh City women's team will sign a contract with another foreign player.

Very strong opponent

In the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup 1 taking place on the evening of March 22 at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will face Abu Dhabi Country. The UAE representative drew with Hyundai Steel (Korea) and defeated Wuhan Jiangda (China) to surprisingly win second place.

The difference of Abu Dhabi Country lies in the quality of foreign players such as goalkeeper Jeane (Brazil), defender Valeriia Olkhovska (Ukraine), midfielder Aicha Hamideche (Algeria) and striker Nanami Sone.

With the ambition to go far in the Asian Cup 1, Abu Dhabi Country plans to recruit more foreign players from Japan and European countries. The UAE representative does not have quality local players (UAE women's football is not yet developed), but has more than enough potential to bring in good foreign players.

In the group stage of the Asian Cup 1, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club won second place with 6 points after 3 matches, just behind the extremely strong team Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan.
