On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation (January 30, 1950 - January 30, 2025), today, General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong exchanged congratulatory letters with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh exchanged congratulatory letters with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man exchanged congratulatory letters with Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Parliament Valentina Matvienko and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Parliament Vyacheslav Volodin.

In their congratulatory letters, the leaders of Vietnam and Russia emphasized that the friendship between Vietnam and Russia has overcome the challenges of history, affirmed its strong vitality and is growing.

Over the past 75 years, the people of the former Soviet Union and the people of Russia today have always stood shoulder to shoulder, supporting the Vietnamese people to create many miracles in the cause of defending the Fatherland and building and developing the country.

The Vietnamese leaders affirmed that the affection, attachment and solidarity of many generations of leaders and people of the two countries are invaluable assets that both sides have the responsibility to preserve, promote and bring the Vietnam - Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership into depth and effectiveness.

The Vietnamese leader emphasized that in 2025, in addition to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the two countries will also celebrate many important historical events of each country.

Inheriting the good relationship nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries over the past 75 years, the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia continues to achieve many positive results, worthy of the glorious history of the two countries.

In letters sent to key Vietnamese leaders, Russian leaders affirmed that with the joint efforts of the two countries, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia will continuously develop, meeting the fundamental interests of the two peoples, in line with enhancing security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.

Vietnam-Russia cooperation in the current period is developing successfully in the fields of economics - trade, science - technology, culture, humanities and other fields; major joint projects are being implemented in the fields of energy, industry, transport infrastructure... fully meeting the interests of both countries.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on January 30, 1950, Vietnam's relations with the former Soviet Union and the current Russian Federation have always been stable over the years and have increasingly developed deeply and extensively.

Vietnam-Russia political relations have always enjoyed high reliability and have been constantly strengthened. Through diverse forms and mechanisms of political cooperation such as regular delegation exchanges, the two sides have established and effectively implemented many mechanisms.

Economic and trade cooperation has developed positively, with periods when trade turnover increased by 10-15% per year. Cooperation in science and technology, culture, education, tourism, and localities has been increasingly expanded, in which cooperation in science and technology and education and training between the two countries has been promoted and raised to a strategic level.

Russia has become an attractive destination for many Vietnamese students thanks to its high-quality scholarship and training programs. Tens of thousands of scientists, engineers and technical workers trained in the Russian Federation have made positive and effective contributions to the Vietnamese economy and are a factor in creating a bridge of friendship between the people of the two countries.

Regularly held cultural exchange activities also contribute to increasing understanding between the two peoples and creating conditions to promote cooperation in other fields.
