TKV aims to achieve a profit of 3,400 billion VND.

The Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV) has set a target for 2025 of consuming 50 million tons of coal; including 42 million tons for electricity production, 36.852 million tons for domestic clean coal production, revenue of VND 172,800 billion, profit of VND 3,400 billion, and tax contributions of VND 17,150 billion.

TKV is accelerating the development of the coal sector to meet the coal needs of the economy.

Ending 2024 on a high note.

Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, General Director of TKV, said that 2024 is a year of special significance, marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment and development of the Vietnam Coal Corporation. The Group continues to receive attention and guidance from the Government, ministries, and agencies in resolving difficulties and obstacles, as well as the consensus, assistance, and support of local authorities at all levels, especially Quang Ninh province.

However, 2024 also presented many challenges. Ensuring sufficient coal supply for the power plants of the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) was a major challenge, putting significant pressure on TKV (Vietnam Coal and Mineral Group) given the decrease in domestic coal production compared to recent years; unstable coal supply to thermal power plants; unfavorable geological conditions for mining that reduced coal production compared to projects and plans; obstacles in exploration and mining licensing; and difficulties in recruiting miners.

Along with unpredictable weather patterns, especially Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi), which caused many difficulties for production and inflicted heavy damage on TKV's coal production units.

However, with the spirit of "Discipline and Unity," the collective leadership and employees of the Group have made many efforts to overcome difficulties, quickly overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi, and stabilize production and business; joining hands with localities to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, especially in Quang Ninh province, while decisively implementing management solutions.

Thanks to these efforts, TKV has basically completed the main targets of its 2024 production and business plan. Specifically, coal production reached approximately 36.7 million tons; coal consumption reached approximately 46.73 million tons, equivalent to 93.5% of the annual plan. Of this, coal for electricity production was 39.46 million tons, equivalent to 94.9% of the annual plan.

Along with a range of business activities in the fields of minerals, electricity production, etc., TKV achieved total revenue of VND 167,250 billion. Although this revenue level is only about 95.5% of the annual plan, profit increased sharply to about VND 6,300 billion, equivalent to 142% of the annual plan.

TKV has ensured stable jobs and income for its employees and contributed to the state budget as planned, fulfilling its political mission of ensuring sufficient coal supply for electricity production.

In 2025, TKV plans to sell 50 million tons of coal, including 42 million tons for electricity production and 36.852 million tons for domestic clean coal production, generating revenue of 172,800 billion VND and a profit of 3,400 billion VND.

A solid pillar of energy security.

Today, TKV has become a large and powerful state-owned economic group, one of the three pillars ensuring national energy security, and plays a crucial role in the country's development.

By the end of 2023, TKV's total assets had increased more than 97 times compared to its founding, preserving and developing state capital; revenue grew remarkably, with an average growth rate of 18% per year (from 2,500 billion VND in 1995 to 170,000 billion VND in 2023); pre-tax profit increased from 40 billion VND (in 1995) to 6,000 billion VND in 2023; contributions to the state budget increased from 120 billion VND in 1995 to 29,000 billion VND in 2023; the average salary of employees reached over 17 million VND/month, with miners earning over 21 million VND/month.

Thanks to its efficient production and business operations, TKV (Vietnam Coal and Mineral Group) has made significant contributions to the state budget, especially in Quang Ninh province – a strategic production area for TKV. For example, in 2024, TKV's contribution to the state budget in Quang Ninh reached VND 17,650 billion, equivalent to 110.3% of the annual plan. In 2025, the projected contribution to the local budget is over VND 17,000 billion.

In production and business, TKV has accelerated the development of the coal industry to meet the coal needs of the economy; effectively applied mechanization, automation, and computerization in management, operation, and production and business; the mineral sector has been developed in the direction of strengthening deep processing, notably the successful implementation of two pilot projects for bauxite mining in the Central Highlands; and successfully developed the fields of electricity, industrial explosives, mechanical engineering, and construction materials based on the coal industry.

For its achievements and contributions to the country, TKV has been honored by the Party and the State with prestigious titles such as the Gold Star Order, Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period, etc.
