In the indictment recently issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy, Nguyen Phuong Hang (52 years old, General Director of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company), Dang Anh Quan (Doctor of Law) and 3 accomplices were prosecuted for the crime of Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.

According to the case file, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang and her accomplices took advantage of and used 12 social media channels to livestream, violating the privacy and affecting the reputation and honor of many individuals such as Mr. Vo Nguyen Hoai Linh (artist Hoai Linh), Ms. Nguyen Thi My Oanh (singer Vy Oanh), Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni (journalist, master of law Han Ni), Mr. Huynh Minh Hung (singer Dam Vinh Hung), Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Tien (singer Thuy Tien) and her husband Le Cong Vinh, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien (Deputy editor-in-chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper)...

During the investigation, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang stated that the information she said during livestream and posted on Facebook about the above individuals was all read on the Internet, unverified and without any basis for proof.

To increase the prestige and credibility of her statements, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang invited Mr. Dang Anh Quan to join her livestreams.

At the investigation agency, all the defendants admitted to all the crimes, consistent with other documents and evidence. In addition, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang stated that when conducting livestreams, she and Mr. Quan did not need to discuss in advance to understand each other and juggle.

Defendant Dang Anh Quan stated that he participated in 11 livestreams to comfort and understand Ms. Phuong Hang. The remaining defendants stated that they were employees of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company and were paid by Ms. Hang so they performed their assigned tasks.

Authorities determined that the above actions of Nguyen Phuong Hang and her accomplices violated the provisions of the Law on Cyber Security and the Government's Decree on the management, provision and use of Internet services and information on the Internet, infringing upon the legitimate rights and interests of individuals and negatively affecting social security, order and safety. Therefore, it is necessary to strictly handle them for individual reform, education and general deterrence and prevention.

In addition, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang and her accomplices were subject to aggravating circumstances such as committing the crime in an organized manner and committing the crime two or more times.
