Hanoi Department of Construction has just reported to the Ministry of Construction the results of reviewing and handling existing problems and shortcomings in road traffic organization in the area.

The Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to manage two main expressways and some service roads of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway with a total length of 107.5km.

In addition, the Department also manages 11 national highways with a total length of 241.8km; 86 tunnels of all kinds (mechanized tunnels, civil underpasses, pedestrian tunnels) with a total length of 3.9km; 1,385 roads (provincial roads, district roads, urban roads) with a total length of 2,044.8km; 376 bridges with a total length of 40.54km.

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Construction on reviewing and maintaining the system of signs and traffic lights, the Department of Construction has directed its affiliated units and contractors to strengthen inspection and promptly fix incidents and damage to traffic lights during operation and use.

As a result, the Hanoi Department of Construction has replaced and added more than 1,400 thousand signs. The Maintenance Department has coordinated with the Traffic Control Center - City Police and related units to regularly inspect and promptly adjust the headlights at inappropriate locations. The total number of traffic lights repaired and replaced of all types is more than 1,200 sets.

The Hanoi Department of Construction has also coordinated with other sectors to inspect and review 5 black spots and 235 potential traffic accident spots. According to the plan, it is expected that in 2025, 505 new countdown lights will be replaced.
