On the afternoon of March 6, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc chaired a meeting with the city's business community.
As one of the first enterprises to speak, Ms. Cao Thi Ha An, Project Development Director of Vingroup Corporation, thanked the City leaders as well as the agencies and sectors in the past time for helping the enterprise to be able to implement the legal procedures of the Can Gio coastal urban area project.
Specifically, the company has completed the 1/500 detailed planning, environmental impact assessment report and then the feasibility study report and other procedures in parallel.
Aiming to start construction of the project on April 30, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, Ms. An proposed that the City People's Committee and departments and branches continue to support and speed up the completion of the remaining legal procedures.

At the same time, the Group commits to linking the conservation and promotion of Can Gio's tourism strengths, especially the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve, in the implementation process, in order to synchronize with the city's development orientation to become a typical, green and environmentally friendly coastal city.
In order to exploit tourism potential and turn Can Gio into a new world destination, Ms. An also proposed that the City consider and approve the assignment of a member unit of the Group to research and develop a tourism development investment project.
The project will be developed on the basis of ensuring requirements for forestry environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and submitted to competent authorities for consideration and approval in accordance with the provisions of law.
The Can Gio coastal urban area has a total investment of over 282,800 billion VND. The sea encroachment part needs about 65,600 billion VND, the technical infrastructure is over 32,500 billion VND, the rest is investment in architectural works of about 184,700 billion VND. The population of the Can Gio coastal urban tourism area is a maximum of 228,506 people. The number of tourists in the whole project is about 8.887 million/year.
The project is located in Long Hoa commune and Can Thanh town, Can Gio district with 4 sub-areas A, B, C and D - E.
Specifically, subdivision A has an area of about 953.23 hectares, planned as an ecological residential area associated with tourism services at the gateway area of Can Gio coastal urban tourism area.
Sub-area B has an area of about 659.87 hectares, is a residential area, a resort area, an urban public service area (healthcare, education, administrative headquarters, trade services, offices, etc.), an urban green area and a technical infrastructure hub and urban technical infrastructure system in the direction of a modern and smart city.
Zone C with an area of about 318.32 hectares, is the financial, economic, commercial, service, office and port center, a modern urban area including modern and civilized residential areas (townhouses (limited), villas, high-rise buildings).
Sub-area D, about 480.46 hectares, is a commercial center, high-class resort, modern urban area including residential areas (townhouses, villas) ensuring modern and smart criteria; and sub-area E, about 458.12 hectares, is water surface, canals and green trees for urban use.
Besides the Can Gio coastal urban area project, Vingroup Corporation is also actively implementing legal procedures for social housing projects in the city.
Accordingly, Ms. An requested the City People's Committee to consider and direct departments and branches to guide and coordinate with member units of Vingroup Corporation to implement investment procedures for a 200-hectare social housing urban area in Xuan Thoi Thuong commune, Hoc Mon district.
The project will be developed synchronously in terms of technical infrastructure and social infrastructure, in accordance with the general planning of the City to 2040 and vision to 2060 according to the decision of the Prime Minister.
Regarding the social housing project in Thu Duc City invested by Green City Development Joint Stock Company, Ms. An proposed that the City leaders direct the Thu Duc City People's Committee and related units to promptly complete and approve the zoning plan, ensuring compliance with the general planning of Thu Duc City, helping businesses quickly implement the project, contributing to meeting the housing needs of the people.
