
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam recently jointly organized the workshop "Women in Banking Integrate with the Digital Transformation Process" in Hanoi.
The workshop attracted female leaders in the banking industry, representatives from the State Bank of Vietnam, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Women's Union, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam.
The conference provided general and updated information on digital transformation trends in the domestic and international banking sector , and was also a forum to discuss and propose policies and solutions to address the challenges that women in banking face in the digital transformation process. The event is one of the activities within the framework of cooperation between Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam and the State Bank of Vietnam on gender equality, aiming to provide global perspectives on the topics of women in leadership and improving women's skills, and sharing practical experiences and lessons on promoting diversity and inclusion.
At the workshop, Mr. Dao Minh Tu, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, shared: " Although each field has its own advantages and difficulties, female officers in the banking sector always strive and confidently promote their full capacity, intelligence, courage and enthusiasm to strive to best complete assigned tasks, contributing increasingly positively to the overall development of the sector and the country".
The Workshop program includes 2 main content parts: Digital transformation trends in the banking sector and the Banking Women Dialogue Forum firmly integrating with the digital transformation process.
At the workshop, Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, shared the policy solutions of the State Bank of Vietnam in the face of the strong digital transformation trend in the banking sector.
In addition to the presentation on digital transformation perspectives from domestic bank representatives, Mr. Ankur Kanwar, Global Head of Structured Solutions, Standard Chartered Bank Group, also provided perspectives on digital transformation of international banks in terms of achievements, opportunities and challenges. The workshop ended with a dialogue forum session on the role of women in the digital transformation process with speakers from representatives of the State Bank of Vietnam, the Australian Ambassador, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade.
