This good news was shared by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh when meeting with officials, staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Türkiye on the evening of November 29 local time, during his official visit to this country.
Proposal to simplify visa procedures
Reporting to the Prime Minister, Vietnamese Ambassador to Türkiye Do Son Hai said that the Vietnamese community in Türkiye has about 200 people.
In particular, Vietnamese-owned businesses and enterprises, although newly developed on a small and medium scale, have gradually promoted trade and introduced Vietnamese goods and cuisine to local people.

Bui Xuan Mai (a Vietnamese student studying in Türkiye) shared his wish that the Prime Minister would ask the host country to simplify visa procedures to make it easier for Vietnamese people to travel and visit. This student also proposed organizing a Vietnamese cultural holiday in Turkey and vice versa, so that the two countries can strengthen ties and promote tourism and trade.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (Vice President of the Provisional Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Türkiye) is a businesswoman who has lived here for more than 20 years and is currently the director of a cosmetics and textile company.
The businesswoman also asked the Government to create conditions to help Vietnamese people in Türkiye attend cultural events and promote trade in the country.
Listening to the opinions shared, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged that the role, position and prestige of the overseas Vietnamese community have always been consolidated and enhanced. They always turn to their homeland and country in all circumstances, whether difficult or favorable.
"To date, overseas Vietnamese have had 385 investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of more than 1.7 billion USD and contributed capital to thousands of enterprises in Vietnam," according to the head of the Government.

He affirmed that overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part and a resource of the nation. The Party and State always care for, look after and support them to stabilize and integrate into the local society, preserve the Vietnamese language and cultural identity, and at the same time encourage and create favorable conditions for them to actively contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The Head of Government requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Türkiye to continue to pay attention and do better work for Vietnamese people abroad.
First of all, he emphasized the need to carry out procedures related to the people in the simplest and most convenient way; grasp information and complete data about the people, such as the address of each person, to promptly care for their material and spiritual life; regularly connect with the people, actively support community activities and soon establish the Association of Vietnamese people in Türkiye.
Wherever you go, you can be proud to be Vietnamese.
Informing the people about the domestic situation, the Prime Minister summarized that after more than 35 years of renovation, Vietnam has achieved many great and historic achievements. Vietnam's role, position and prestige are increasingly affirmed in the world. "No matter where we go on this Earth, we have the right to be proud to be Vietnamese," said the Prime Minister.
Informing that Vietnam's economy has achieved encouraging results, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pointed out many bright spots such as Vietnam's macro economy remaining stable, inflation being controlled, and major balances of the economy being ensured. Public debt, government debt, and foreign debt are under control.

"When Vietnam began its reform, the size of its economy was only a few billion USD, but now it has reached more than 400 billion USD. The average income per capita is more than 4,000 USD," according to the Prime Minister.
He also announced good news that foreign investment capital is nearly 30 billion USD, the highest ever. The amount of remittances sent home is also increasing, this year is likely to be higher than last year.
According to the head of the Vietnamese Government, during meetings with senior Turkish leaders, all affirmed that they consider Vietnam a top priority partner in the Southeast Asian region, and emphasized their desire to improve the effectiveness of cooperation with Vietnam.
Türkiye is one of Vietnam's leading important partners in the Middle East. Trade exchange between the two countries in 2022 reached more than 2 billion USD, an increase of 26.2% compared to 2021. The two sides agreed to continue to elevate the Vietnam-Türkiye relationship to a new height; promote cooperation in all areas, especially in areas where one side has strengths and the other side has needs. At the same time, consider simplifying visa procedures to further facilitate citizens of both countries.
"This is an important foundation for the Vietnam-Türkiye relationship to continue to develop to new heights; it is also the foundation for the Vietnamese community in Türkiye to continue to develop," the Prime Minister emphasized.
