At the Conference, the Reporter of the Naval Region 5 Command informed and propagated about the sea and islands to more than 3,600 cadres, party members and people in 9 districts, towns and cities under An Giang province.

The information and propaganda content focuses on the position, role and importance of Vietnam's seas and islands in the cause of national construction and protection; the current situation in our country's seas; the viewpoints, goals and solutions to the struggle to protect the sovereignty of our seas and islands of our Party and State and some outstanding results of the Vietnam People's Navy in performing assigned political tasks.

The delegates were also informed by the reporter of the Naval Region 5 Command about Directive 45/CT-TTg dated December 13, 2017 of the Prime Minister on a number of urgent tasks and solutions to overcome the warning of the European Commission on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; legal regulations and forms of handling for fishing vessels violating illegal fishing in foreign waters.

Information and propaganda activities aim to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's resolutions and directives, especially the 8th Central Resolution of the 13th tenure on "Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation", the 8th Central Resolution of the 12th tenure on "Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, vision to 2045".
Continue to promote propaganda and education for cadres, party members and people of all walks of life to deeply understand the position, role and potential of the sea and islands in the cause of national construction and protection; the goals, guidelines and policies of our Party and State on sustainable development of the marine and island economy associated with building a national defense and people's security posture at sea; promote the combined strength of the political system and the community in participating in socio-economic development, associated with strengthening national defense and security, firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
Previously, in May 2024, the Naval Region 5 Command coordinated with the Women's Union and An Giang Provincial Youth Union to organize information and propaganda about the sea and islands for more than 1,000 cadres, women's union members of the province and students of An Giang University.
