Press release Opening session of the 8th session, 15th National Assembly

On Monday, October 21, 2024, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the Law on Organization of the National Assembly, the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will solemnly open at the National Assembly House, Hanoi Capital.

In the past time, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Secretary General of the National Assembly, the Ethnic Council, the National Assembly Committees, the agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Assembly delegations, the National Assembly deputies, the National Assembly Office and relevant agencies, organizations and individuals have urgently prepared the contents to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and decision at the 8th Session.

Before the opening of the Session, at 7:15 a.m., leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and National Assembly deputies laid wreaths and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.

At 8:00 a.m., the National Assembly held a preparatory meeting. At the meeting, the National Assembly deputies listened to the speech of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; listened to the National Assembly Standing Committee report on the reception, explanation, and adjustment of the proposed program of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly. After that, the National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the program of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly. Next, the National Assembly listened to a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Head of the Delegation Work Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee, present a report on the dismissal of Mr. Tran Dinh Van, a member of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province, from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

At 9:00 a.m. the same day, the National Assembly held the Opening Session of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly at Dien Hong Hall, National Assembly House. The Opening Session was broadcast live on Voice of Vietnam (VOVI), Vietnam Television (VTV), and Vietnam National Assembly Television.
