(NLDO)- On March 1, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the ceremony to announce the National Assembly's Resolution on the establishment of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and decisions on personnel work.
Also attending the conference were: Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Politburo member, Minister of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang; and leaders of the Government and ministries.

At the recent 9th extraordinary session, the 15th National Assembly passed Resolution No. 176/2025/QH15 on the organizational structure of the Government for the 15th National Assembly term. In particular, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is one of 17 ministries and ministerial-level agencies in the organizational structure of the Government. The National Assembly also approved the appointment of Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung as Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
The Government has issued Decree No. 41/2025/ND-CP stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions. The Prime Minister has appointed Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, including Mr. Y Vinh Tor, Ms. Y Thong, Nong Thi Ha and Ms. Nguyen Hai Trung.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on its first establishment. According to the Prime Minister, our country has 54 ethnic groups, each with its own cultural identity, creating a unified Vietnamese culture in diversity. The most important thing is the spirit of great national solidarity of the Party, State and people, comradeship and compatriotism that have been promoted in all periods and stages of the revolution and have achieved great victories as President Ho Chi Minh summarized: Solidarity, solidarity, great solidarity/Success, success, great success.
Regarding ethnic work, the Prime Minister emphasized the spirit of ethnic solidarity, ethnic groups must have equal access; how to ensure that there is no gap between ethnic groups in development; not to leave anyone behind; not to let hostile and reactionary forces divide the national solidarity bloc.
According to the Prime Minister, the Politburo has just decided to exempt tuition fees for all students from kindergarten to high school nationwide. The Prime Minister expressed his concerns about schools for students and medical treatment for people in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, and border and island areas.

The Prime Minister requested the Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and the Minister of Education and Training to urgently develop a nationwide project this year so that students can have boarding schools and "not have to go far, not have to walk dozens of kilometers to go to school", and at the same time take care of their food and accommodation.
We must promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups, turn ethnic cultures into development resources, serve the country, both meet the cultural enjoyment needs of the people and turn culture into material wealth. In particular, pay attention to implementing the national target program on culture, developing the cultural industry, entertainment industry, etc.
Regarding religious affairs, the Prime Minister emphasized very key issues such as the need to ensure freedom of belief and religion, closely combine religion and life, life and religion, and religion is closely linked to the nation; institutionalize and effectively implement state management, management for development, and implementation of the Party's guidelines, State policies, and people's aspirations.
According to the Government leader, hostile and reactionary forces should not be allowed to incite religious issues and cause division among religions. The Prime Minister also noted the task of deploying satellite internet to cover the internet, promoting digital transformation in remote, border, island and ethnic minority areas. The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to develop a project to submit to competent authorities to contribute to the development of equality, health and civilization in religions.
The Prime Minister also requested the Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to immediately get to work, without interruption, especially work related to people, ethnic affairs and religion.
