Establish a Working Group and a Department to assist in determining the cause of the incident at Ta Phoi Copper Plant

On August 11, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh signed Decision 1985/QD-UBND to establish a Working Group and a Support Unit to determine the cause of the surface drainage pipe break of the tailings pond of Ta Phoi Copper Selection Plant.

Accordingly, the Working Group consists of 9 members, led by Mr. Hoang Chi Hien, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; Deputy Heads include Mr. Hoang Van Thuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; Mr. Tran Xuan Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport - Construction; Mr. Vu Dinh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. Specific tasks of the Working Group members are assigned by the Head of the Working Group.

*Ta Phoi Copper Joint Stock Company is urgently working to repair landslides at the tailings pond and Copper Selection Plant.*

The task of the Working Group is to verify the cause of the incident of the surface drainage pipe breaking at the tailings pond of Ta Phoi Copper Processing Plant according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 46, Decree 06/2021/ND-CP dated January 26, 2021 of the Government detailing a number of contents on quality management, construction and maintenance of construction works; clarify compensation responsibilities and propose effective and scientific solutions to prevent similar incidents from occurring; propose handling of violations in land management, construction investment, environmental protection... within the scope of the project (if any) in accordance with regulations.

The Support Unit consists of 11 members, headed by Mr. Hoang Van Thuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade. The task of the Support Unit is to advise the Working Group in performing the task of verifying the cause and responsibility for the incident of the surface drainage pipe breaking at the tailings pond of the Ta Phoi Copper Selection Plant and proposing solutions according to regulations. The specific tasks of the members of the Support Unit are assigned by the Head of the Unit and the Working Group is allowed to use the seal of the Department of Industry and Trade during the performance of its tasks.
