Focus on training high-quality human resources in key fields and projects

This afternoon, September 11, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam chaired a conference to connect vocational training institutions with businesses in vocational training and job creation.

There are currently 3,416 enterprises in the province. According to a survey in the first 6 months of 2024, the recruitment demand of enterprises is 6,830 jobs, concentrated in the garment and construction sectors. The demand for human resources in the last months of the year and the following years requires tens of thousands of jobs.

To achieve the target of the Resolution of the 17th Quang Tri Provincial Party Congress, which is to create new jobs for 12,000 workers annually in the 2020-2025 period and over 12,500 workers in the 2025-2030 period; to contribute to improving the quality of human resources and solving employment, in recent years, along with focusing on socio-economic development, national defense and security, the issue of training, labor and employment has always been of interest to all levels and sectors from the province to the grassroots. However, the need for vocational training and job creation, labor supply in the province still faces many difficulties.

The conference listened to presentations from departments, branches, units and enterprises on the current situation and solutions for career education, orientation of student streaming in general education; results and plans for piloting sending workers in the province to work seasonally in Korea; solutions to improve efficiency in capturing, sharing information, forecasting labor demand to contribute to orienting training and retraining to meet the human resource needs of enterprises; solutions to increase the ability to meet the labor recruitment requirements of enterprises after training; promote cooperation and training linkage between vocational education institutions to diversify training occupations to meet the recruitment needs of enterprises in and outside the province...

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized that the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, has determined: "Developing quality human resources to meet development requirements". Therefore, it is necessary to continue to do well in vocational training associated with job creation in the next period, linking vocational training institutions with businesses more closely.

Review and manage the network of vocational training institutions, diversify training types and training levels; improve training quality in vocational education. Focus on training high-quality human resources in key fields and projects that are and will be invested in the province such as: information technology, mechanics - automobiles, automation, mechatronics, electricity - electronics, logistics, tourism, construction...

Every 2-3 years, it is necessary to conduct a survey on vocational training needs as a basis for developing plans and orienting the organization to implement vocational training support for workers. Effectively deploy solutions to connect labor supply and demand.

Continue to effectively implement Plan No. 1967/KH-UBND dated May 8, 2019 of the Provincial People's Committee to implement the Project on vocational education and orientation of student streaming in general education for the period 2018 - 2025. Synchronously implement mechanisms, policies and solutions to develop human resources, especially high-quality human resources.

Pay attention to supporting training and retraining for workers in enterprises, especially those without qualifications, through effective implementation of human resource development support activities for small and medium enterprises. Strengthen direction and guidance on policies on job creation and sending workers to work abroad under contracts.
