Continue to review and rearrange administrative units

(QBĐT) - On the morning of March 26, the Steering Committee (SC) for rearranging and reorganizing administrative units (AUD) at district and commune levels in Quang Binh province held its second meeting to deploy a number of key tasks in the coming time.

Comrade Le Ngoc Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Comrade Tran Hai Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Steering Committee; members of the Steering Committee and representatives of relevant departments, agencies, sectors and units.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee for the arrangement and reorganization of administrative units at district and commune levels in Quang Binh province requested districts, towns and cities to continue researching and developing plans for the arrangement of administrative units at commune level in the area. In particular, it is important to carefully and thoroughly research and carefully consider traditional, historical and cultural factors for the name and headquarters of the new administrative unit.

The name of the new administrative unit needs to be easy to identify, short, easy to read, easy to remember, and promote the advantages of the locality, in line with the integration trend, and create consensus among the people. The Steering Committee also reminded localities about determining the administrative-political center of the new commune after the arrangement.

The selection of the administrative-political center of the new administrative unit must have a favorable geographical location, synchronous socio-economic infrastructure, especially a developed transportation system, easy connection with the inner-provincial areas, large cities, economic centers or with the marine space system; consistent with the socio-economic development orientation of the new administrative unit, ensuring harmony and rationality, avoiding imbalance between administrative units when merging, ensuring the maintenance of national defense and security. The new administrative center must ensure quick and stable operation after the arrangement.

The responsibility of local Party committees and authorities is to unify awareness and create consensus among local people; grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people; contribute to preserving and promoting historical values, traditions, culture and the spirit of solidarity of the people towards the new administrative unit after the arrangement.

Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang noted that localities need to closely follow the conclusions, policies and orientations of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government, and the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and specifically define the work contents, deadlines, completion progress and responsibilities of provincial and local agencies to ensure timely, synchronous, unified, quality and effective implementation.

In parallel with the implementation of the task of arranging administrative units at the commune level, localities continue to strengthen propaganda work to create unity in awareness and action of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in agencies and organizations in the political system; create consensus among the people and public opinion on the policy of arranging administrative units at all levels and organizing local governments at 2 levels in Quang Binh province.
