Visiting the graves of heroic martyrs at Hue City Martyrs Cemetery |
At the ceremony, leaders of Thuan Hoa and Phu Xuan districts rang the bell at Hoa Binh bell tower, prayed for national peace and offered flowers and incense at the Memorial.
After a minute of silence, the delegates visited and burned incense on each martyr's grave. This activity expressed respect and deep gratitude to the previous generations who devoted their lives to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.
Hue City Martyrs Cemetery is the resting place of more than 3,600 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the resistance wars to protect the country, of which more than 1,000 graves have been identified. Recently, the People's Committee of Hue City (old) and the People's Committee of Thuan Hoa District have invested in infrastructure renovation, creating a peaceful and cozy resting space for the martyrs; taking good care of the graves and organizing to welcome the martyrs' relatives and people to visit.
