Speaking at the opening of the training course, comrade Nguyen Bao Lam, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, emphasized that in the trend of modern journalism, Longform is being studied and applied by many editorial offices. These are press products with long sentences, beautifully designed illustrations, extensive information, neat graphics and are often chosen as featured articles for magazines and websites. The Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association requested members and journalists attending the training course to study seriously to gain the most access to the content and knowledge that the lecturers impart; actively discuss directly any remaining issues; the lecturers discuss enthusiastically and responsibly, imparting necessary knowledge to the students.
During the one-day course, students were shared experiences and skills in creating longform for online newspapers by journalist Vu Hoang Long, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper, using popular design software such as Canva and Sway. Designing Longform products with available templates. How to add text, change fonts, sizes, effects. Using photos, videos, sounds, graphics, charts, and grids to insert into designs to make press products look more prominent and professional.
In particular, the instructor focuses mainly on instructing skills, methods, and thinking in creating Longform products. In the training class, students are divided into practice groups and create a complete longform product.
The training course aims to improve the professional qualifications and skills of journalists and members, to approach and familiarize them with basic skills in modern electronic journalism, especially implementing journalism in Longform format using popular applications such as Canva and Sway, to improve understanding, inspire passion and creativity for journalists and members, and create easy access to information for readers.
