Gave 87 gifts to poor households, disabled people, and victims of Agent Orange

Attending the meeting were comrades Nguyen Minh Tuan, Chairman of the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Tra Vinh province; Nguyen Thanh Hung, Vice Chairman of Cau Ngang District People's Committee; Nguyen Van Quang, Chairman of the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in the district, along with representatives of departments, agencies and branches of the district and 87 delegates who are poor households, people with disabilities and victims of Agent Orange in the district.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Tuan, Chairman of the Association for the Support of Disabled People and Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in the province, gave a speech to review the 62nd anniversary of the Vietnam Agent Orange Disaster Day, to review and remember the sacrifices and losses, and to pay tribute to those who fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification. Thereby, to recognize the pain of Agent Orange victims, thereby having acts of kindness to add strength to rise up, and to ease the pain of illness.

The province currently has 4,460 households with 10,053 people exposed to toxic chemicals. In the past 5 years, the provincial and district level Associations have mobilized units, organizations, individuals, and religious dignitaries to contribute over 75 billion VND in cash and in kind to sponsor 175,552 beneficiaries. Support programs include humanitarian addresses, visiting and giving gifts, supporting livelihood capital, wheelchairs, building charity houses, etc.

At the meeting, the Provincial and District Association for the Support of Disabled Persons and Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin presented 87 gifts, including cash and gifts, to the beneficiaries. These gifts were taken from the Provincial Social Security Fund, contributing to helping victims of Agent Orange to ease their pain, gradually integrate into social life, and arouse the spirit of mutual love in the community.
