Exciting National Olympic Running Day and Launching Ceremony of the 50th Open Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run

This is a key sports event of the city, practically celebrating the 79th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam's Sports Industry (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Attending the event were: Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Vice Chairman of Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee Pham Anh Tuan; Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong; Director of Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department Dang Ha Viet; Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper Lai Ba Ha, representatives of Vietnam Olympic Committee, City Olympic Committee and more than 4,000 students, teenagers, seniors, officials, workers, civil servants, armed forces, laborers and people in the city.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha said that in response to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", according to Plan No. 517/KH-BVHTTDL dated February 22, 2021 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the City People's Committee has annually issued a Plan to Launch the Olympic Running Day in conjunction with launching the Hanoimoi Newspaper Run - For Peace.

During the days of March 2025, districts, towns and cities across the city simultaneously implemented the Olympic Running Day plan and the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run for Peace.

Up to now, 30 districts, towns and cities have developed plans and organized Launching Ceremony at most of the grassroots units, communes, wards, towns and schools, attracting over 350,000 participants. This is a program of widespread social significance, aiming to propagate to all classes of people about the meaning of physical training, improving physical fitness and human stature in the period of integration and development, and at the same time aiming at the Final of the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace in 2025.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District Nguyen Quoc Hoan, representing the leaders of 30 districts, towns and cities, spoke in response to the program and said that the district will focus on specific tasks such as: Promoting the movement of physical exercise and sports, raising people's awareness of the role of physical exercise, contributing to reducing medical costs and improving the quality of life. Continuing to effectively implement Program No. 06 dated March 17, 2021 of the Hanoi Party Committee on cultural development, improving the quality of human resources, building elegant and civilized Hanoians, especially focusing on performing well the tasks and targets in the field of mass physical education and sports.

The district will vigorously implement the Olympic Running Day to wards in combination with the general running movement. Organize a launching ceremony, mobilize the participation of a large number of people; establish a team, organize training and participate in the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Running Tournament - For Peace. Propaganda, mobilize, and encourage people to actively participate in physical exercise and sports, respond to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" for the period 2021-2030, the movement "Healthy to start a career and defend the country"; thereby, forming the habit of exercising, improving physical condition, contributing to building a healthy and civilized community.

At the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented souvenir flags to the units attending the launching ceremony. After the opening ceremony, more than 4,000 people participated in the run.

After the launching ceremony, from now until September 2025, the units will continue to implement the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run, run to test general standards at the base, thereby selecting athletes to practice and form a team to participate in the City-level Final on September 28, 2025.
