Famous player Joshua Filer (Germany) is excited to prepare for the 10-ball world billiards tournament in Vietnam.
On July 13, the Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation received a notice from ACBS, stating that the Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation officials, athletes, and coaches will be banned from participating in Asian and international activities and tournaments for 6 months, from June 13, 2024 to January 12, 2025.
This caused Vietnam's top billiard players to miss the opportunity to attend the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG 6) in November in Thailand, and Vietnam even had to cancel hosting the 3-cushion carom billiards World Cup in Binh Thuan in September, as well as the World Cup in Korea...
The Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation said the reason for this heavy penalty came from the fact that some tournaments were organized against regulations in Hanoi, despite recommendations from ACBS, greatly affecting the journey to conquer the 3-cushion carom billiards village of Vietnam's top players who have reached the world level such as Tran Quyet Chien, Bao Phuong Vinh...
However, the penalty will end in January 2025. And from the beginning of February 2025 onwards, the activities of this sport in Vietnam will return to normal. Predator - the world's number 1 brand specializing in the production of tools and equipment for billiards, the main products are tables, cues, cloth and billiard balls as well as related accessories - will act as a bridge to organize a series of world and international tournaments in Vietnam in 2025.
WPA Technical Director Melvin Chia congratulates Vietnam on hosting a series of major international tournaments
Specifically, Predator will cooperate with Box Vietnam to organize a series of tournaments in Vietnam in 2025, including the Men's 10-Ball World Championship, the International Women's Open, the Amateur Open for non-professional athletes, and the Scotch Doubles.
The total prize pool for these events will be up to 500,000 USD (about 12.6 billion VND) in the first year 2025, increasing each year with 600,000 USD (about 15.2 billion VND) and 700,000 USD (about 17.7 billion VND) for the next 2 years.
Technical Director of the World Billiards Federation (WPA), Mr. Melvin Chia, affirmed that after the recent bad news, the fact that Vietnamese billiards can organize 4 international tournaments in 2025 is a very welcome and awaited signal.
Meanwhile, famous German player Joshua Filler said he was very excited to have the opportunity to come to the S-shaped land to compete with Vietnamese athletes in the 10-ball billiards world championship in 2025.
