Young star born in 2006 makes history for England

Myles Lewis-Skelly shines for England.

According to Opta, Myles Lewis-Skelly (18 years, 176 days) became the second youngest Arsenal player in history to play for the England national team, behind only Theo Walcott (17 years, 75 days). And to mark a memorable milestone in his career, Lewis-Skelly scored the opening goal in the "Three Lions" 2-0 victory over Albania.

The shot past goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha from close range helped the left-back born in 2006 make history once again as the youngest player to score for England on his debut, breaking the record held by Marcus Rashford with a goal at 18 years and 209 days against Australia in 2016.

Lewis-Skelly’s career has taken an incredible turn in the last six months. The London-born youngster made his Premier League debut and scored his first goal, followed by a Champions League debut. With impressive performances, Lewis-Skelly quickly became a mainstay at Arsenal and was called up to the England squad by manager Thomas Tuchel.
