Mourinho's Fenerbahce are under huge pressure as they trail league leaders Galatasaray by nine points. Despite the poor results, the club's board have confidence in the Portuguese coach and have confirmed that they will keep him, even if he fails to deliver a trophy at the end of the season.
If this is true, it will be a historic decision for Fenerbahce. Since 1973, no coach has been retained after failing to win a title. The last to do so was Didi, who continued with Fenerbahce after the 1972/73 season despite not winning the title.
Mourinho has one year left on his contract with the Turkish club. If he wins the domestic double at the end of the season, the board may consider extending Mourinho's contract until 2028.

According to AS , Mourinho has started planning his squad for next season. The two older players Edin Dzeko and Dusan Tadic are likely to leave. This is a sign that Mourinho is looking to rejuvenate the squad and target players who fit his philosophy.
Ahead of the Europa League round of 16 tie with Rangers, Mourinho spoke about the future: “This is a great club, success here belongs to all of us. If the team is united, sooner or later success will come. My future is not as important as Fenerbahce. I have a contract here for another year. But right now, what I am thinking about is Fenerbahce's performance."
Fenerbahce will return to action on March 29 with a trip to Bodrum.
