In the final match against Thailand, Vietnam started with Tran Thi Ngoc Yen, Nguyen Thi My, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen and Nguyen Thi Yen. The match was extremely tense as both teams continuously fought for each point.

In the first game, the players' coordination helped the Vietnamese women's team win by a narrow margin of 15-12. Not giving up, the Thai team of 4 adjusted their tactics and defended firmly to win the second game with the same score of 15-12, bringing the match back to the starting line.

Entering the decisive game, both teams played with a “do or die” spirit. In the most difficult moments, the Vietnamese girls showed their steely determination. Tran Thi Ngoc Yen and her teammates continuously scored important points, maintained their spirit and ended the match with a 15-13 victory.

In the end, Vietnam defeated Thailand 2-1, officially becoming the champion of the 2025 World Cup. This is the first time Vietnam has won the World Cup gold medal, after winning silver medals 5 times in 4 previous tournaments, since 2011.

The victory continues the impressive streak of achievements of Vietnamese women's sepak takraw. Previously, the Vietnamese girls won the gold medal at the 19th Asian Games in 2023 in the 4-person event.

Also on the evening of March 21, the Vietnamese men's team met Thailand in the 4-man team final but lost 0-2 and received the silver medal.

The 2025 World Cup will take place in India from March 20 to 25, attracting 20 teams from many countries and territories around the world to compete. Southeast Asia includes Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia, Brunei, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

After the 4-person team event, the Vietnamese team will continue to compete in doubles, 2-man teams, 3-man teams, 3-woman teams, 4-woman teams and mixed teams.
