The construction of Kindergarten 12 project started with a total investment of nearly 29 billion VND from the budget, demonstrating the city's attention to education in general and preschool education in particular.
On the morning of December 1, District 3 People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to build Kindergarten 12, Ward 12, District 3.
Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Pham Thanh Kien, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Le Thuy My Chau, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training; Nguyen Thanh Nam, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District 3 Party Committee; Vo Van Duc, Chairman of the District 3 People's Committee.

Kindergarten 12 is built on a land area of about 1,425 m2 , at 1074 Truong Sa, Ward 12, District 3. The project has a total investment of nearly 28.7 billion VND, including 1 ground floor, 2 floors with 12 classrooms, 2 gifted rooms, fully equipped functional rooms, meeting the needs of preschool education, helping children have conditions to develop comprehensively in terms of physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, and aesthetic.
There are also ancillary works such as garden (more than 126.3m2 planted with trees and grass), aesthetically designed playground, internal traffic system, water supply and drainage system, electricity, fire prevention and fighting system...
Vice Chairman of District 3 People's Committee Tran Thanh Binh said that after a long period of use, the current condition of the building and facilities of Kindergarten 12 has seriously degraded. The building lacks many functional rooms, the kitchen and toilets serving children do not meet standards, and the fire prevention and fighting system does not ensure safety. Although the school undergoes costly annual maintenance and repairs, the results are not as expected, failing to meet the teaching and learning needs of teachers and students.
Therefore, in 2016, the People's Committee of District 3 approved the investment policy for the project to build a new national standard Kindergarten 12, aiming to help children have conditions to develop comprehensively in terms of physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and aesthetic aspects, contributing to thoroughly solving the existing problems of the old school.
From 2017 to 2023, the project has completed the procedures for project preparation, appraisal and approval, construction drawing design and total estimate, bidding plan and project implementation.

With a total investment of 28.7 billion VND, allocated entirely from the city and District 3 budgets, it demonstrates the attention paid to education in general and preschool education in particular.
The decision to invest in the project aims to ensure social welfare and security policies, specifically serving children and residents of Ward 12 and neighboring wards. This is an area with high population density, with a majority of working people with difficult economic conditions.
The Vice Chairman of District 3 People's Committee requested the investor and related units to focus on implementing the project on schedule and with quality, making good use of investment resources, and handing over the project for use in the new school year 2025-2026.
