On the afternoon of August 11, the working delegation led by Ms. Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with Bat Xat district to evaluate the mid-term results of the implementation of Project 07-DA/TU on "Protecting, caring for, and improving people's health and population work in Lao Cai province in the new situation, period 2020 - 2025".
According to the report of the People's Committee of Bat Xat district, after half of the term of Project 07, 5/20 targets reached 100% of the Project's target; 14/20 targets reached over 70% of the Project's target; 1/20 targets reached over 50% of the Project's target. As of June 2023, the health insurance coverage rate in the district reached 95.5%, reaching 97.4% of the Project's target.
The project has invested resources in facilities, equipment, and human resource training to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment services for the people. The whole district currently has 2 regional polyclinics and 21 health stations, with an average of 37.8 medical staff per 10,000 people. 7.1 doctors per 10,000 people, 20/21 health stations have regular doctors, 11 health stations have doctors working under Project 1816...
In addition to the achieved results, the implementation of Project 07 of the Provincial Party Committee in Bat Xat district still faces some difficulties such as: the allocation of capital to upgrade and repair some medical stations has not been implemented; the work of building communes to meet the national criteria on health at a higher level than the old criteria, the target of the number of hospital beds/10,000 people is still low, the expansion of health insurance participants still faces many difficulties,...
At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying a number of issues: the purchase of equipment for Bat Xat District General Hospital; financial support for the population collaborators at the grassroots level, medical examination and treatment costs for the poor; food safety issues; the implementation of national target programs; State management of health...
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Giang Thi Dung highly appreciated the targets that Bat Xat district achieved in implementing Project 07, and requested that in the coming time, Bat Xat district needs to review and evaluate the effectiveness of the operations of medical stations and regional polyclinics; strengthen State management of medical facilities, private pharmaceutical businesses, and food safety issues; proactively allocate resources, speed up the progress of equipment procurement, repair and upgrade medical stations, and serve the medical examination and treatment of the people. Balance human resources, send staff for training to improve their professional skills; promptly pay policies and regimes to people coming for medical examination and treatment and staff serving in the health sector, promote the advantages of remote medical examination and treatment to improve service quality.
