On May 23, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh visited and presented gifts to union members and workers on the Bac Giang - Dong Dang railway line. The delegation included Party Committee member, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation Hoang Nang Khang, Vice President of Vietnam Railways Trade Union Nguyen Thanh Hoan, and professional leaders and trade unions of regional railway units. The implementation of Workers' Month was carried out by the Vietnam Railways Trade Union at the grassroots level, under the direction of the Party Committee, professional leaders and trade unions on a large scale and lasting until the founding day of Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 2024).

According to Vice President of Vietnam Railways Trade Union Nguyen Thanh Hoan, taking care of workers' rights is basically guaranteed, this is the tradition of the industry, and workers' recommendations are always thoroughly resolved.
Currently, 100% of the railway industry's workers in difficulty are cared for by trade unions at all levels. During Workers' Month 2024, at the industry level alone, the Corporation and the Vietnam Railways Trade Union spent over 3.5 billion VND to take care of workers. At the workers' dormitories, the trade union and professionals have equipped TVs, refrigerators, and water filters for workers to use after work.
On behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh sent to all workers of the Railway industry best wishes for good health to work well and complete assigned tasks. The Vice President also acknowledged and highly appreciated the work of taking care of the lives of union members and workers of the Vietnam Railway industry.
Vice President Phan Van Anh said that 2024 is the year the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor implements the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union and celebrates the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024), in which Workers' Month 2024 is a month of solidarity, implementing specific tasks such as promoting dialogue to listen to the voices of workers and businesses on wages, bonuses, and union member development...
Vice Chairman Phan Van Anh also requested the leaders of the units to create better conditions in taking care of the lives of workers, building harmonious labor relations so that workers can work with peace of mind, consider the unit as their second home, continue to take care of the lives of workers; to encourage and motivate union members and workers to accompany the enterprise to complete assigned tasks well, improve productivity, quality and efficiency so that the rights of workers are better and better.
On the same day, Vice Chairman Phan Van Anh visited and presented gifts to workers at Bac Thuy Station in Chi Lang District, Lang Son. This is a station on the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line with difficult steep passes.
According to Mr. Dong Tien Dung - Head of Bac Thuy Station, the current working conditions here are very difficult. Every day, workers have to patrol trains, guard tunnels from km114+500 to km128+900 (nearly 20km) with steep passes, high bridges, and most of the work is done on foot.
According to Mr. Dung, although the workers' lives have improved, due to the complex geographical and terrain conditions, there is no clean water for daily use in the dry season and landslides often occur in the rainy season. Therefore, the collective of workers always encourages each other to overcome all difficulties to ensure safe train operations.
Faced with the difficulties of workers at Bac Thuy Station, Vice Chairman Phan Van Anh shared and encouraged workers to overcome difficulties, ensure train safety, and complete assigned tasks well.
Also on May 23, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation Hoang Nang Khang and Vice Chairman of Vietnam Railways Trade Union Nguyen Thanh Hoan visited, encouraged, and presented equipment to improve working and living conditions of workers at Bac Le and Kep stations on the railway line.
