Deputy Inspector General of the Department was fired for using fake diploma.

On February 22, a source from the Economic and Urban Newspaper reported that the Director of the Department of Transport of Ca Mau province had issued a decision to discipline a civil servant for using an illegal high school diploma. Accordingly, the Director of the Department of Transport disciplined by forcing the civil servant Doan Hoang Thoai, Deputy Chief Inspector of the department, to resign. The reason was that Mr. Thoai used an illegal high school diploma.

This violates the provisions of Clause 3, Article 13, Decree No. 112/2020/ND-CP and amended and supplemented by Decree No. 71/2023/ND-CP dated September 20, 2023 of the Government: "Using fake or illegal diplomas, certificates, certifications, and confirmations to be recruited into agencies, organizations, and units". Previously, on January 22, the Party Committee of the Department of Transport of Ca Mau province also disciplined Mr. Thoai by removing him from the position of Party Committee member of the Transport Inspectorate Party Cell (term 2022-2025).
