Developing high-quality human resources in the era of national growth

Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education Le Manh Hung emphasized this at the Conference to summarize the work of promoting education and the emulation and reward movement in 2024, organized by the Hanoi Association for Promoting Education on December 19.

Reporting on the study promotion work in 2024, Vice President of the Hanoi Study Promotion Association Nguyen Ba Chau said that despite difficulties, the study promotion and talent promotion movement in the capital city has achieved many important results.

Accordingly, the Association at all levels has developed 355 new grassroots organizations, an increase of 3.07% compared to 2023, and developed 109,585 new members, an increase of 18.54% compared to 2023. Thereby, the total number of members in the city has increased to 1,953,233 people, reaching a rate of 23.44%, compared to the total population in the city.

The construction of learning models has always been identified by all levels of the Hanoi Association for Promoting Education as a key and core task to build a learning society. Up to now, the learning models have all achieved and exceeded the targets set by the Central Vietnam Association for Promoting Education. As a result, 1,669,074 families have been recognized as "Learning Families", accounting for 89.06% of the registered number; 8,579 clans have been recognized as "Learning Clans", accounting for 89.49% of the registered clans.

Hanoi has 4,709 communities recognized as "Learning Communities", reaching 91.67% of the registered communities, and 4,061 units recognized as "Learning Units", reaching 99.68% of the registered units.

Implementing Decision No. 677/QD-TTg dated June 3, 2022 of the Prime Minister and Plan No. 290/KH-UBND dated December 5, 2023 of the City People's Committee on building the "Learning Citizen" model, up to now, 3,830,096 citizens have been recognized as "Learning Citizens", reaching a rate of 60.09% compared to the total number of registered citizens.

On the occasion of holidays, Lunar New Year, the summary of the 2023-2024 school year and before the new school year 2024-2025, the Association at all levels from the city to the grassroots directly and in coordination with sectors and organizations awarded 202.7 billion VND in rewards to 607,315 families and clans who took care of the study promotion work; students with difficult circumstances who strived to study well; students who won prizes in exams at all levels...

Speaking at the Conference, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education Le Manh Hung acknowledged the outstanding and comprehensive results of the Hanoi Association for Promoting Education. At the same time, he said that in the new period, the new era, the era of striving, the era of development, we need to have high-quality human resources to serve that development.

To grow and develop, there is no other way than to study, improve people's knowledge, and nurture talents. This is a high-quality human resource and plays the most important role in bringing the country into the era of growth.

Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education Le Manh Hung hopes that Hanoi will have a higher level of education than other localities and that many universities, colleges, enterprises, and intellectual units in the area will be one step ahead in the current digital transformation revolution.

At the same time, the Hanoi Association for Promotion of Education advises the Party Committee and the government on specific programs to promote learning models and create learning conditions for the people. Mr. Le Manh Hung also suggested that the Hanoi Association for Promotion of Education pay attention to promoting and developing the Association for Promotion of Education in schools, armed forces, schools, administrative units, enterprises, etc. Because these are very important units to spread the spirit of learning in residential areas as well as help the movement for promotion of education develop more strongly.

The Hanoi Association for Promotion of Education continues to advise the Party Committee and the Government to implement the Directives, Resolutions, and Plans of the Central and Hanoi City on promoting education, promoting talents, and building a learning society. At the same time, develop the Education Promotion Fund and do a good job of emulation and rewards to encourage the movement, motivate those who are dedicated and responsible in promoting education; honor typical examples and new factors interested in promoting education.
