Promoting the role of local press in Party building propaganda

The history of Vietnam's revolutionary press is closely linked to the birth and growth of our Party and in the work of Party building, the Party always highly appreciates the position and role of the press - one of the four systems for supervising cadres and Party members. Therefore, Party building propaganda is always a regular and top priority task for press agencies in general and local press in particular. With diverse ways of expression, together with the Central press agencies, Ninh Binh Newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station have been gradually performing this task well, which has been recognized and highly appreciated by cadres and Party members.

Identifying propaganda on Party building as an important and regular political task, Ninh Binh Newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station have devoted considerable space and time in each issue, radio and television program to address this issue in many genres such as news, articles, photos, videos, reports, etc. Thereby introducing good and creative ways of Party building at the grassroots level, as well as shortcomings and inadequacies arising from practice, contributing to bringing the Party's Resolution into life, enriching the spiritual life of the people. Also through propaganda on Party building, local press agencies have contributed to theoretical research, summarizing practices; participating in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, Secretary of Thanh Binh Ward Party Cell, Ninh Son Ward (Ninh Binh City) said: Currently, Thanh Binh Ward Party Cell has 49 party members, most of whom are retired cadres. The cell is periodically provided with Nhan Dan Newspaper and Ninh Binh Newspaper according to regulations. As a hard-to-break habit, he and many other party members in the cell spend time every day reading Ninh Binh Newspaper, Nhan Dan Newspaper and watching news bulletins on Ninh Binh Provincial Radio and Television Station and Vietnam Television Station.

"Many cadres and party members in Thanh Binh ward's Party cell and people from all walks of life, through special pages, topics and columns on Party building on Ninh Binh Newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station, have contributed opinions to the Party on the shortcomings, as well as expressed their thoughts and aspirations in the process of implementing the Resolutions of Party committees at all levels and policies of the government from central to local levels," said Mr. Nguyen Van Tien.

On the other hand, the provincial Press and Radio agencies have been quick to grasp and convey information, thereby helping reporters at all levels have more information from real life to convey to cadres and party members, creating interest for reporters as well as listeners, contributing to orienting public opinion.

The advantage of local press is that it has a firm grasp of specific circumstances, customs, habits, subjects, etc., so it has a direct and strong impact on the thoughts and feelings of local people. However, to meet the increasingly high requirements of the practical work of Party building and propaganda, press agencies and journalists in the province must always improve their professional skills, constantly practice, have a strong political stance, be proficient in their work, proactively and actively follow the reality of the grassroots to comprehensively reflect all aspects of Party work; discover and identify good practices and good models to commend and resolutely fight and criticize shortcomings, violations, and limited issues...

Only then can the local press truly be a sharp weapon in ideological work, a bridge between the Party, the State and the people; affirming its position as a channel providing official information, an important media institution in the locality, contributing to building a clean and strong Party, building an increasingly prosperous homeland and country.
