During 4 days (from February 11 to 14), checking 24 vehicles, the authorities discovered 15 crew members tested positive for drugs.
In recent days, implementing the peak of the overall review, detection, statistics, and management of drug addicts, illegal drug users, and people under post-drug rehabilitation management, the Waterway Traffic Police Team (Traffic Police Department, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police) has inspected and handled drug law violations by crew members on waterway vehicles.

Accordingly, over the past 4 days, the task force has inspected 61 crew members on 24 vessels. Thereby, the force has discovered 15 cases positive for drugs. At the same time, the traffic police also caught 2 subjects in the act of storing and using drugs.
It is known that since the beginning of February, units in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province have coordinated to review and make a list of drug addicts, suspected drug addicts working as drivers, boaters, ship drivers, drivers working in companies, warehouses, ports, construction material mines and industrial parks located in the town to check for drugs while driving on the road.
For drivers, the authorities also coordinate with companies and businesses to conduct propaganda to remind them to comply with the provisions of the Road Traffic Law and test drivers positive for drugs right at the facility.
In addition, the Task Force will conduct random checks on drivers operating in industrial parks, companies, ports, and warehouses in the area. If a driver is found to be positive for drugs, the Task Force will handle the case according to current regulations.
