According to experts, in the short term, domestic pepper prices may continue to decrease slightly due to pressure from increased local supply during the harvest season. In the international market, pepper prices are expected to maintain an upward trend due to high demand and limited supply.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association said that pepper consumption demand has improved from major markets such as the EU, the US and some Asian countries. However, farmers and traders continue to stockpile goods and sell them in small quantities after the harvest season.

The pepper market recorded mixed trends, with domestic prices falling slightly in the last sessions of the week, while international pepper prices maintained their upward momentum thanks to stable demand. Farmers mainly stockpiled, only selling in small quantities with the expectation of price increases in the coming years.
In the first two months of 2025, pepper exports to China increased sharply by 86.6% compared to the same period last year. Although the increase has not reached expectations, this is still a positive signal for the pepper industry.
According to the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC), weather conditions are quite favorable in the main pepper harvesting areas across the country. Up to now, Dak Nong and Lam Dong have harvested about 50% of the area, Gia Lai reached 40% and Dak Lak is 20%, in other localities in the Southeast region such as Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc and Ba Ria Vung Tau, about 30% has been harvested.
