The Thanh Hoa Provincial Power Development Steering Committee has just issued a plan to implement power development in the province in 2025 with many specific goals and tasks.
According to the plan, the province aims to exceed 8,800 million kWh of commercial electricity output in 2025, reduce the electricity loss rate to below 3.74% and save about 2% of total electricity consumption.
In 2025, the province will focus on completing key power source, transmission line and transformer station projects approved in the Power Plan VIII. Key projects monitored by the Steering Committee include: Hoi Xuan Hydropower Plant (102MW), Nghi Son LNG Power Plant (1,500MW), Song Am Hydropower Plant (14MW) and Ten Tan Hydropower and Irrigation Project (12MW).
Regarding 220kV power projects, the plan focuses on the Sam Son 220kV transformer station and the Thanh Hoa - Sam Son 220kV connection line, the Thanh Hoa 500kV - Hau Loc 220kV line and the Thanh Hoa 500kV - Bim Son line. At the same time, the province also deploys 14 important 110kV power projects in the area.
The Steering Committee assigns specific tasks to departments, branches and localities to preside over, monitor and urge the progress of investment in construction of power source and grid projects in the VIII Power Plan; shorten the time for appraisal of investment policies and procedures for selecting investors for power projects; guide and urge the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to develop land use plans in accordance with the VIII Power Plan. The Nghi Son Economic Zone Management Board and industrial parks will speed up the progress of procedures for selecting investors for the Nghi Son LNG Power Plant project, completing the selection of investors in the second quarter of 2025.
The plan also requires the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to publicly announce key power projects, organize management, supervise implementation and proactively support investors in power projects.
