According to WCCF Tech , Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has just shared that the upcoming iOS 18 will bring many attractive AI features, both on the device and in the cloud. However, not all iPhone users will be able to experience them. Only those who own the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are eligible, due to the superior power of the A17 Pro chip and Neural Engine compared to the previous version A16 Bionic.

This means that iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus users, as well as iPhone 14 series users, will not be able to access the latest AI features of iOS 18. This is a disappointing move for many users, especially when these devices still have quite powerful configurations.

One of the notable AI features on iOS 18 is Siri's ability to answer complex questions, even become a chatbot, and integrate generative AI technology from OpenAI.

For macOS users, Gurman said the M1 chip will be the minimum requirement to experience the new features, which means Intel-powered Macs will not have support for on-device and cloud AI features.

However, Apple may still offer some limited AI features to ineligible devices. Apple fans will have to wait until the developer conference - WWDC 2024 on June 10 for more details.
