Bond group plays Lady Gaga in Hanoi

The Bond International String Quartet played Lady Gaga's famous songs such as "Poker Face" and "Bad Romance" at the National Convention Center on the evening of October 5.

The performance appeared at the end of the concert, expressing the spirit of classical music fusion that the group pursues. The four girls played a medley including Alexandro, Born this Way, Poker Face, Bad Romance and Judas. The free-spirited guitar makes famous pop songs both familiar and strange, and is cheered by many audiences.

Audience member Ngoc Anh, 28 years old, Hanoi, said the performance surprised her: "Through the violin and viola, Lady Gaga's songs are both elegant, classic but still fresh."

For nearly two hours, four artists "treated" Vietnamese audiences to 20 familiar songs such as Viva, Shine, Betroot, Quixote. Group shows off techniques with Summer and Winter by Italian composer Vivaldi. Two pieces from the suite Four seasons famous, performed by many world-famous orchestras. The show ended with Hungarian, The music has a catchy samba rhythm.

Four girls wore ao dai in the opening act, playing music in front of an LED screen showing pictures of women and landscapes from many regions of Vietnam. Between performances, the band briefly interacted with the audience. They practiced saying "Hello", said they loved ao dai and would bring a gift back to their country. The four girls expressed their happiness at returning to Hanoi to perform and being welcomed by fans.

The organizers invested in international standard sound and lighting for the band, the most expensive equipment being four lights worth 1.6 billion VND. Director Pham Hoang Nam designed the stage and lighting.

The show attracted about 4,000 domestic and international audiences. Tai Yang Chen, 35, flew from Taiwan to Hanoi to watch the show. He is a member of the Bond fan club worldwide. Tai Yang Chen has listened to the band's music since he was a child and was inspired by them to learn to play the violin.

Sharon Barrett, 31, is British and works in China. She said she is related to the group's violist Elspeth Hanson, but this was the first time she had heard Bond perform live.

The quartet was formed in the 1990s, based on the idea of ​​two experts Mike Batt and Mel Bush. They wanted to build a band with four beautiful, talented artists, performing classical music in a modern, new style. The group's music combines and interweaves many different materials, from classical, Latin, folk to Jazz, Rock, Pop, Electro. Many of Bond's pieces, especially the song Victory, frequently used at celebrations, awards ceremonies, around the world.

The members of Bond are all former students of prestigious art schools in the UK and Australia. Tania - the main violinist - has received many academic awards in music and is performing with famous choirs in London and Sydney. Eos - the second violinist - plays and composes many genres. She is the composer of the film series. Sherlock and actor guidance Benedict Cumberbatch plays the violin. The Asian cellist, Gay-yee, is the co-founder of the group. The final member is Haylie, who plays the violin.

All four members of Bond have or are collaborating with famous artists such as Paul McCartney, Sting, Bryan Adams, Spice Girls and Leona Lewis.

In their 24 years of performing, Bond has made their mark on many tours. They have played at many famous landmarks such as the Pyramids of Giza, Wall Street, Times Square in New York or the Royal Albert Hall in London. The band was invited to perform the song I Am the Walrus at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
