The Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 15-30mm, with some places experiencing over 80mm. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
Localized heavy rains can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.
Therefore, localities need to monitor real-time warning information on areas at risk of flash floods and landslides provided online on the electronic information portal of the General Department of Hydrometeorology at https://luquetsatlo.nchmf.gov.vn and in separate bulletins warning of flash floods and landslides.
In the past 24 hours (from 3:00 a.m. on August 25 to 3:00 a.m. on August 26), the Northern provinces, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An had moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places such as: Tuc Dan 2 (Yen Bai) 156mm; Muong Muon (Dien Bien) 156mm; Chieng Lao 2 (Son La) 131mm; Trung Ly (Thanh Hoa) 124mm; Bach Ngoc 1 (Ha Giang); Ban Qua (Lao Cai) 101mm...
