According to the reflection of Chu Se Water Supply Joint Stock Company, on September 22, the company's bank accounts were all locked. The amount of water that people paid in, the company could not withdraw and did not know where it went. Therefore, the company did not have money to pay the electricity bill (41 million VND) for the previous September period.
However, according to VietNamNet's source, the reason why Chu Se Water Supply Joint Stock Company's account was frozen and money was lost was because the company owed overdue taxes, and the Gia Lai Provincial Tax Department applied measures to "forcefully withdraw money from the account and freeze the account".
Gia Lai Provincial Tax Department has forcibly withdrawn money from the bank account of Chu Se Water Supply Joint Stock Company twice, with the amount of 68 million VND. The application of measures to forcibly withdraw money from the account and freeze the account is in accordance with the provisions of Point a, Clause 1, Article 125 of the Law on Tax Administration.
Currently, the Gia Lai Provincial Tax Department is implementing measures to freeze three bank accounts of this company. Statistics as of September 30 show that the tax debt of this company is more than 154 million VND, of which more than 80 million VND is overdue and must be enforced.
Previously, on September 7, the Gia Lai Provincial Tax Department announced the tax debt amount for Chu Se Water Supply Joint Stock Company.
Gia Lai Provincial Tax Department sent a letter to Chu Se Water Supply Joint Stock Company stating: “The Tax Department has urged the company by phone and email, but to date the company has not paid the tax debt, fines, and late payment fees as notified. In case, by September 11, the company has not paid the tax, fines, and late payment fees of more than VND 80 million, the Tax Department will be forced to apply coercive measures to withdraw money from the account and freeze the account.”
Not only sending a letter, on September 18, the Gia Lai Provincial Tax Department also invited the leaders of Chu Se Water Supply Joint Stock Company to work but they still did not pay taxes. Therefore, on September 22, the Tax Department decided to enforce the administrative decision on tax management by withdrawing money from the account of the subject of enforcement.
By October 19, from the Vietcombank account under the name of Chu Se Water Supply Joint Stock Company, the amount of more than 68 million VND was transferred to the Gia Lai Tax Department to enforce the withdrawal of money from the account and freeze the account according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 1, Article 125 of the Law on Tax Administration.
According to General Director of Chu Se Water Supply Joint Stock Company Le Vinh Thinh, the Company is currently continuing to fight with the bank for arbitrarily freezing the account and transferring money to an unknown location without the consent of the account owner. At the same time, the company is requesting the police to investigate and clarify the matter.
