Xuan Son Cement has completed more than 90% of construction volume, operating from December 2024. |
Xuan Son Cement Factory is located in Ngoc Luong commune, Yen Thuy district, Hoa Binh province, invested by Xuan Khiem Group Joint Stock Company, with a phase 1 capacity of 2.3 million tons/year and a total investment of nearly 5,000 billion VND.
Construction started in early 2023, and has now completed more than 90% of the construction volume and will be operational from December 2024.
The main items such as limestone warehouse, clinker silo, cement additive warehouse, dosing station, bucket elevator, packaging line, packaging house, cement grinding station and 110 kV power station have been completed. Currently, Xuan Son Cement is speeding up the progress to complete the remaining items according to plan.
Most recently, the project investor has launched Xuan Son Cement product.
The factory's production line is invested synchronously, with modern and advanced equipment, producing products such as PCB50, PCB40, PCB30 and high-class plastering under the brand name Xuan Son Cement.
Xuan Son Cement Factory applies a production system with a heat consumption of less than 680 kcal/kg of clinker; electricity consumption of less than 40 kWh/ton of clinker, less than 28 kWh/ton of cement. The factory uses waste co-processing technology, utilizing excess gas heat to generate electricity, reducing NOx and CO₂ emissions, aiming at green cement production, environmentally friendly.
The advantage of Xuan Son Cement is that it owns a rich limestone and clay mine with abundant reserves, ensuring a stable and high-quality supply.
By 2030, Xuan Son Cement Factory aims to increase its capacity to 6 million tons/year, becoming one of the large-scale suppliers in the market.
Cement supply is currently in large surplus, the completion of investment and operation of Xuan Son Cement project at this time will not be favorable for the market, because both domestic and export cement consumption are decreasing.
In 2024, the total national cement supply will reach about 122 million tons, while domestic consumption demand will only reach about 60 million tons, with more than 29 million tons exported, leading to excess supply and fierce competition, and reduced selling prices...
The high prices of input materials such as electricity, coal...; production materials remain at high levels, causing cement production costs to increase sharply. The real estate market is sluggish, construction projects from public investment sources are slow to disburse, directly affecting domestic cement consumption demand...
In 2025, cement supply will continue to exceed domestic demand by about 55-60 million tons, exports will decrease due to many markets reducing purchases, the real estate market will grow slowly, input costs will increase, etc., continuing to put domestic cement producers in a difficult situation regarding consumption.
In addition to the Xuan Son Cement project with products on the market, another project, Hoang Long Cement, with a capacity of 2.3 million tons/year, also in Hoa Binh, is expected to complete the construction investment part, so it will soon be put into operation, creating more supply to the market.
Currently, the pressure of excess domestic clinker production capacity is extremely large, with over 50 million tons, while the domestic construction speed is slow, leading to bad debt pressure in the cement industry that is and will become a burden on the economy. Without timely support solutions from the State, many businesses will go bankrupt, the Ministry of Construction is concerned.
