On April 30, 2024, the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway project was completed and officially opened to traffic on the entire route connecting to the North - South expressway axis, making Ninh Thuan one of the first provinces in the Central coastal region to connect to the North - South expressway axis. This is a particularly important project serving socio-economic development, security, national defense and creating momentum for socio-economic transformation; a lever for growth of gross domestic product for Ninh Thuan province. Since its inauguration, the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway has created a new wave of attracting domestic and foreign investment to Ninh Thuan in many fields, especially tourism.

Mr. Trinh The Cuong, Director of Gia Viet Joint Stock Company, said: Promoting investment in key traffic routes, especially the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway on the North - South axis connecting within the province as well as with Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces and cities, has created favorable conditions for businesses in traveling, transporting goods and connecting trade. Thereby, shortening the road travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Ninh Thuan from 6 hours to nearly 4 hours; Phan Thiet - Phan Rang, Phan Rang - Nha Trang from 3 hours to only 1.5 hours. At the same time, contributing to the rapid transportation of Ninh Thuan goods, meeting export needs, reducing logistics costs; impacting changes in economic structure. In addition, with the launch of the high-speed railway project, Ninh Thuan will converge the transport infrastructure in all 5 areas: Road, highway, railway, seaway, high-speed railway, creating trade connections between Ninh Thuan and the whole country and internationally.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Chairman of Ninh Thuan Province Tourism Association, enthusiastically said: With the development of transport infrastructure, the tourism industry has benefited a lot. As evidence, the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway put into use right on the occasion of the April 30 holiday and the summer tourist season in 2024 has contributed to high growth for Ninh Thuan tourism. The total number of visitors and vacationers in 2024 will reach 3.4 million, an increase of 17.2% over the same period, reaching 106.3% of the plan; social income from tourism activities is estimated at 3,890 billion VND. Convenient transportation, the length of stay of visitors is getting longer, the rate of returning visitors is higher.

In recent years, with the determination of the entire political system, focusing on mobilizing maximum resources in society for investment, fundamentally solving urgent needs, gradually completing the transport infrastructure system in a synchronous, modern, and interconnected direction with the whole country. In the period from 2021-2024, with many forms, the province has mobilized more than 13,019 billion VND to invest in and develop the transport infrastructure. The completed projects have connections and linkages to the economic, cultural, and tourism centers of the province, forming a comprehensive, seamless connection chain, shortening distances and time, expanding development space; opening up and promoting the potential of dynamic areas, creating an important growth pole Ninh Thuan in the South Central region.
Comrade Nguyen Van Vinh, Director of the Department of Transport, said: In response to the development requirements of the province, in 2025, the transport sector will advise the Provincial People's Committee to coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to continue to coordinate with investors to effectively operate and exploit Wharf 1A, remove difficulties for investors to speed up the implementation of the investment project to build Wharf 1B of Ca Na general port; coordinate with the Maritime Administration to complete the detailed planning of the seaport group and the detailed planning for the development of land and water areas of seaports as a basis for calling for investment in the construction of the remaining wharf clusters of Ca Na general port and Ca Na dry port. Continue to recommend the Ministry of Transport to soon invest in completing the Thuan Nam interchange, residential roads and rest stops on the North-South expressway; Invest in upgrading and expanding the remaining 4.5km of National Highway 27. Coordinate the implementation of works related to the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis through the province. In addition, prepare to invest in the dynamic route connecting Ca Na general port to the Southern Central Highlands region, which is considered a breakthrough driving force for the development of the East-West corridor, a transit point for goods for the entire South Central Coast and Central Highlands, contributing to relieving pressure on seaports in the Southeast region and Ho Chi Minh City. Implement investment projects to build traffic works in the 2021-2025 and 2026-2030 periods. Continue to implement and soon put into use the 62km connecting road project from Tan Son town to Ta Nang intersection, Duc Trong district (Lam Dong). This is a project with a particularly important position and role in inter-provincial traffic, connecting the three provinces: Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, breaking the division between key economic zones of the provinces in the region, contributing to improving the efficiency of land funds on both sides of the road, creating a driving force to promote socio-economic development for the three provinces.
