In 1983, Lin Dehua, a fisherman in Zhejiang Province, went out to sea and caught many different types of fish. Among the fish he caught were two golden croakers. Golden croakers are a rare species of fish, sought after all over the world. Lin Dehua decided to bring these two fish home to dry their bladders.

The old fisherman gutted the fish, cleaned it carefully, squeezed the fish bladders with salt, and then dried them. For some unknown reason, Lam Duc Hoa forgot the two fish bladders for 38 years. However, they did not spoil at all. Instead, the two dried yellow croaker fish bladders brought him a surprise.

After 38 years, the fish bladders became dry, hard, and no longer had a fishy smell. They turned amber and remained intact. Each one was about 50 cm long, 15 cm wide, and weighed 500 grams.

After the photos of the two fish bladders were posted online, they quickly went viral. Many people contacted Mr. Lam Duc Hoa to buy the two fish bladders. Some even offered 500,000 NDT (more than 1.7 billion VND), but the old fisherman refused.

According to the old fisherman, at that time, fishing was easy, so catching big fish was not difficult. The two golden croakers that Lam Duc Hoa caught weighed up to 45kg each. He only kept the two fish bladders, and divided the rest of the fish meat among everyone.

Nowadays, the golden pomfret fish is overfished, leading to depletion, so it is very difficult to find fish as big as the one he caught. Therefore, the golden pomfret fish bladders of Lam Duc Hoa can be considered a rare treasure.

Fish bladder, also known as phieu giao, hoa giao, is a white, round, balloon-like object. People often think that it is inedible fish intestines and throw it away. In China, dried fish bladder is a popular food. People believe that fish bladder has very high nutritional value.

Fish maw is low in calories but contains a lot of high-quality protein. In addition, it also contains a lot of collagen, calcium, vitamins, minerals... which are very good for human health.

There are many different types of fish maws taken from different types of fish. Nowadays, people often use fish maws taken from sardines, sea bass, sturgeon, tuna and cod. The prices of these fish maws also vary. Their prices range from 1 million VND to tens of millions of VND per kilogram.

The price of yellow croaker fish bladder is much higher than other types. The reason they sell for such a high price is because their nutritional value is comparable to ginseng and bird's nest.

In traditional medicine, eating yellow mackerel bladder helps to promote blood circulation, strengthen yang, and greatly replenish the true essence. In modern medicine, 500 grams of bladder contains 442 grams of protein, so it can be used to supplement nutrition for a weakened, malnourished body.
