According to Reuters, on February 16, the US State Department announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Brazil and Argentina next week to meet with leaders of the two host countries to discuss "bilateral and global issues".

Mr. Blinken will travel to Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires from February 20-23, when Brazil hosts the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting as chair of the group.
In Rio de Janeiro, Secretary Blinken will meet with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to discuss bilateral cooperation on workers' rights and the energy transition.
At the same time, the US diplomat hopes to "engage world leaders in joint initiatives of the two countries to enhance peace and stability".
The two sides are expected to discuss international efforts to help Haiti overcome its humanitarian crisis and escalating violence.
Mr. Blinken will then travel to Buenos Aires to meet with Argentine President Javier Milei, the right-wing libertarian leader who will be sworn in in December 2023.
Discussions will focus on "sustainable economic growth, our shared commitment to human rights and democratic governance, key minerals, and increased trade and investment".
Regarding the US, on the same day, February 16, AFP reported that Vice President Kamala Harris reassured allies who are concerned about the possibility of Donald Trump returning to the White House. Accordingly, she affirmed that Washington will continue to play a world leadership role.
Declaring that “in these uncertain times, it is clear that the United States cannot retreat,” Vice President Harris also stressed that it would be “foolish” for the United States to isolate itself.
“We have to stand with our allies… that is what makes us strong. America will continue to lead,” she continued.
