Nghe An Provincial People's Committee established an interdisciplinary inspection team to conduct a comprehensive inspection of a stone powder production facility in Nghi Loc district where 8 workers were infected with pneumoconiosis; of which, 3 died and the remaining 5 were in poor health.
According to the report of Nghi Loc District People's Committee, recently, the district received reports from 4 communes: Nghi Hung, Nghi Phuong, Nghi Thuan and Nghi Dong, with 8 people working at Chau Tien Limited Liability Company - specializing in producing stone powder, infected with pneumoconiosis.
Of these, 3 people died and 5 others are being treated at medical facilities in a state of having to have their lungs washed, having difficulty breathing, using oxygen, having poor health, and having difficulty walking... The three people who died worked at the same time at this facility.

Regarding the workers at Chau Tien Company Limited who were infected with pneumoconiosis, Deputy Director of Nghe An Lung Hospital, Thai Dinh Lam, said that the hospital is treating patient HVS (47 years old), residing in Nghi Hung commune (Nghi Loc). This patient is in critical condition and has to use a ventilator.
Other patients were brought home by their families in a state of declining health, difficulty walking, lung complications, and difficulty breathing...
According to the leader of Nghi Loc District People's Committee, immediately after receiving the report, the district organized a visit to the workers' families; reported to the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone and related departments and branches.
Immediately after receiving the report from Nghi Loc District People's Committee, the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board organized a working session with the participation of relevant departments, branches, localities and leaders of Chau Tien Limited Liability Company.
At the meeting, representatives of the participating agencies agreed to request Chau Tien Limited Liability Company to visit and encourage families with employees working at the company; organize monitoring of the working environment at the company; review employees who are subject to compulsory social insurance, immediately implement the payment of compulsory social insurance and organize medical examinations for employees.
After grasping the situation, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee established an interdisciplinary inspection team to comprehensively inspect Chau Tien Limited Liability Company with the contents of investigating occupational diseases, inspecting the working environment and implementing social insurance policies for employees. The inspection period is 45 days from the date of announcement of the decision.
Chau Tien Limited Liability Company is headquartered in Area A, Nam Cam Industrial Park, Dong Nam Economic Zone, Nghi Long Commune, Nghi Loc District. This is a company specializing in producing stone powder, with a total registered investment of 280 billion VND, and currently has 33 employees.
