At the launching ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son expressed that the provinces and cities in the Northern region have been going through particularly difficult days due to the severe impact of storm No. 3 (Yagi). The damage up to this point cannot be measured; the time to overcome it cannot be calculated specifically.
According to initial information from some localities, up to now, 7 students and 2 teachers have died, 1 teacher is missing due to storms and floods; tens of thousands of schools have been damaged; millions of students have not been able to go to school.
Faced with the serious storm and flood situation, the Ministry of Education and Training requested the Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities to direct the organization of teaching and learning, support teachers and students to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, depending on the actual situation in the locality. The whole sector continues to strive to overcome difficulties to ensure that teaching and learning activities return to normal soon.

Support activities can be sent to the Vietnam Education Trade Union or directly to the localities, schools, families of teachers and students who have suffered losses due to storms and floods,” said Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son.
The Minister noted that immediately after the fundraising event, the support should be delivered to the beneficiaries as quickly as possible. Priority will be given to teachers and students.
