Newly released video shows a Russian quadcopter UAV dropping a net on an approaching enemy UAV, causing the Ukrainian UAV's propellers to become tangled and fall to the ground.
The new system, called “Setkomet,” has shown high efficiency in real combat conditions. According to field reports, Setkomet successfully intercepted and neutralized enemy UAVs, preventing their use for reconnaissance and attacks on Russian positions.
Military experts note that the use of such systems can significantly change the tactics of combat operations with UAVs. The success of Setkomet in real combat operations emphasizes the importance of developing and deploying new technologies to ensure the safety and efficiency of military operations.
Ukrainian military launched a massive drone attack in Russia's southern Krasnodar region on June 21, causing no casualties or damage, local officials said.
Also on the same day, the RIA news agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that Russian air defense forces shot down 70 Ukrainian drones over the Black Sea and Crimea overnight. The Russian Defense Ministry also said that Russian forces destroyed six Ukrainian maritime drones in the Black Sea.
