Sharing with PV Dan Viet, Mr. Tran Xuan Phuong - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Lau Thuong Commune, a member of the Trau Vang Agricultural Cooperative, said: Previously, when he was a Farmers' Association at the grassroots level, he started raising bees for honey but with a small quantity. But gradually, when he realized that the model was developing well, bringing stable income to his family, he increased the herd and shared his beekeeping experience with households in the area. After research, the households decided to establish a Beekeeping Cooperative, then merged and joined the Trau Vang Agricultural Cooperative.

Trau Vang Agricultural Cooperative currently has 14 members participating in many different fields such as livestock farming, beekeeping, confectionery production, etc. In which, beekeeping for honey has the participation of many members and brings stable income each year to the cooperative.
With more than 40 years of experience in domesticating honey bees from the wild, members of the beekeeping team have bonded and shared their care knowledge with other members of the cooperative.
The honey bee colonies are raised by the cooperative under the canopy of old forests in fresh, cool air conditions, combined with honey ingredients taken from lychee and longan flowers, distilling the essence of wild flowers to create the most delicious and pure drops of honey.
The Cooperative's Sesame Honey product is known for its many uses in nourishing and enhancing the body's resistance, combined with some antibiotics that effectively support the treatment of some diseases. In addition, the sesame honey product is also used in the preparation of typical dishes of the mountainous region.
This is a pure honey using raw materials from flower pistils and pollen of the forest, so the quality is delicious. The product has a thick consistency, sweet taste, high purity, clear yellow color, and a faint herbal aroma of the mountains and forests. The product is processed and packaged by the cooperative according to a closed process with a new, unique design, beautiful packaging form and model.
In particular, the unit has invested in modern machinery to separate the water content to help the honey reach the purest sweetness, prolonging its shelf life, bringing customers delicious, sweet bottles of honey.
In 2023, the Cooperative will sell about 6,000 liters of sesame honey to the market, with an average selling price of 180,000 VND/liter, bringing in an income of over 120 million VND. Also in 2023, the Cooperative's sesame honey products will achieve 3-star OCOP certification.

It is estimated that in 2024, the cooperative's sesame honey output will reach about 6,500 liters, bringing in an income of over 135 million VND. Mr. Phuong's family alone is currently raising about 40 native honey bee colonies, bringing in an income of about 60 million VND per year.
Currently, the Cooperative's product consumption market is present in many agents inside and outside the province such as: Lang Son, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Quang Ninh ... and is favored by many customers. This is a product with the potential to develop and expand on a large scale. With the current production scale, the Cooperative is creating jobs for about 30 workers with an average income of 5 million VND/person/month.
It is expected that in the coming time, the cooperative will increase the number of participating members and the number of bee colonies to about 800 - 900 colonies, meeting the honey output supplied to the market, while creating more jobs and income for farmer members in the commune.
